Lily got a Bumbo seat from our friends Kevin and Angela. Thanks guys!
We took Lily to Eisenhower Park last Saturday. Her first trip there. We strolled by Safety Town and I can't wait for Lily to be old enough to go. I was reminiscing to Dan about a school trip there that I went on in elementary school. Each classmate got to ride a car around the town. I was the last one in line and we were all going through an intersection. The light turned yellow and then red. Since everyone made it through the light, I didn't want to be the only one stuck at it so I ran the red light. They gave me a ticket. True story!
One night, Lily ate her oatmeal only after I started blowing on her face while dan fed her. Then another night, Lily only ate her oatmeal after we sat her up straight and she was leaning forward. On Thursday, she ate ALL of her oatmeal because we finally got her high chair and she loved sitting in it. Hey, whatever works, right?!
I took Lily with me shoe shopping and she couldn't stop staring at all the shoes. I flashed forward to her at age 16 with a closet full of shoes and Dan yelling at her when she comes home with more saying that she doesn't even wear half of the shoes she has in her closet.

Eisenhower Park made Lily tired
AWE
Lily partied too hard. (Don't you just love Photoshop?)
I think I gave Lily that cut on her toe with my nail. Sorry Lily!
When I put the blanket over Lily, it was covering her legs. Guess she was hot!
I think that bib is just a little bit yucky.
Lily loves her new high chair!!
Lily is assisting Daddy with the bottle holding.
YUM…oatmeal!
Is it wrong of me to say that one of the reasons why I love this pic is b/c my boobs look awesome?!
Hmm. Is she storing food for later in those cheeks?
All done!! Now, did Lily's bib get more oatmeal than her tummy did? Hard to say.

Lily looks like she's thinking, "Oh geez, what are they doing to me?"
SATURDAY
Dan, Lily, and I did our Mother's Day rounds on Saturday. I didn't want to go anywhere on Mother's Day because I wanted to just spend it alone with Lily and Dan. We went over Dan's parent's house first and ate lunch with them. After leaving their house we went to Babies R Us to get Lily some formula and a few toys. Then we went to my parent's house. I don't know what Dan thinks about watching his parents with Lily, but I think it's the funniest thing watching mine. My Dad is silly, but he's always silly. My mom, on the other hand, is a whole new person. I can tell she really loves being a grandmother. Lily makes her smile and laugh a lot. It's great to see!
SUNDAY
Mother's Day. My first. It felt like it was my Birthday and in a way, it kinda was. The birth of motherhood and I get to celebrate that each year with my Lily. Dan got me a shirt and Lily got me the Disney movie Tangled. "She" said it is the start of a tradition to always get me a Disney movie for Mother's Day! Yippy!! Dan also went out in the morning to get fresh bagels, then made eggs and bacon to go with it. After breakfast we all went for a walk around the block being that it was like 80ยบ out. What a beautiful day!
On a side note: Lily's card to me made me cry. So did my Mom's card to me (that I got in the mail). After all that we've been through, after all I've gone through, this was a very special Mother's Day. Not just because it was my first, but because it was a long time coming.
MONDAY
Lily turned 4 months old. I can't believe how fast time is going by. It feels so long since I gave birth. I want to cherish every moment with Lily and never take it for granted. Lily is so sweet and happy. Dan and I are very lucky and blessed to have her in our lives.
Since Lily decided to come into the world at exactly 37 weeks, Monday was not only her turning 4 months old, but also her one year anniversary of conception. We had a lot to celebrate! Oh, and Lily celebrated by scratching herself under her right eye. She was fussing a little and I was doing something so I didn't go to her right away. Then all of a sudden I hear this horrible cry coming from her. I turned to her and she was bleeding. UGH! I hate when she's hurt. Stupid thing was that I had planned on cutting her nails that day, but she scratched herself before I did.
TUESDAY
Lily went for her 4 month check up. She is now 15 pounds, 13 ounces, and 25 inches long. She is in the 90th percentile with weight and 78th percentile with height. We got the go ahead to start Lily on baby cereal: oatmeal, rice, and/or barley. This will be her last meal of the night. We started on Tuesday night. I think more went on her bib than in her mouth, but practice makes perfect, right? Wednesday night was a little better. She ate almost all of it, but only after giving her some formula beforehand. You can watch the videos below in This Week In Videos. Next month we can introduce fruit as her first meal in the mornings. Dan and I can't wait!
WEDNESDAY
I went for my follow up doctor's appointment for the MRI I had done on my brain. There's nothing wrong with my brain and they can't see any root cause of the vertigo. On a side note, they did discover I have an abundance of polyps in my nose canal. The doctor looked up my nose and found that it's red and inflamed. This is news to me since I don't have a stuffy nose or sinus issues. She gave me a prescription for Nasonex. Two pumps in each nostril once a day for 28 days. She said it should clear up the inflammation and hopefully get rid of the polyps.
THURSDAY
Went for a walk around the block with Lily. It was a really beautiful day out.

This past Sunday Dan and I went out to the movies while Lily stayed home with Dan's parents. This was the second "date" we've had since Lily was born. I can't last that long without missing Lily and have to see her again. We saw The Avengers, which is a 2 1/2 hour movie. By the end all I could think about was getting home to see my baby girl.
I went for an MRI on Wednesday. I needed to get a brain scan to see why the VAT test came back abnormal. Why do I keep getting vertigo? Maybe I'll get some answers now. Hopefully it's nothing serious. I'll let you all know when I get the results back.
I sit here writing this blog while Lily sleeps next to me in her bouncy seat. Her breath is soft and I can barely see her chest move up and down. She's a very peaceful sleeper. There are certain times though, she cries out in her sleep. She doesn't wake up from this crying. It's like she's having a bad dream. I wonder what babies dream about. They have such little life experiences to really dream about anything major. Maybe when she cries out, her nightmare is of losing her Mommy or Daddy. I hate to think that's what she has nightmares about. I hate to think of her having nightmares at all. I hope that all of her dreams are filled with love and laughter.

No, not a doll. It's Lily!
After my MRI on Wednesday, I came home to this! LOL
I've been getting Lily to laugh a little bit every now and then but only when I am holding her in front of the bathroom mirror. Don't ask me why she thinks that's funny, but she does. On Tuesday though, I had her laying down on her back and was trying to play peek-a-boo. I hid my face behind her shirt while getting her dressed and what do ya know - SHE LAUGHED! Like, for real laughing. The kind you hope all babies will do when you make a funny sound or funny face. She had the hiccups so it was a little weird, but she was doing it! Luckily I had the video camera handy and captured her first real laughter (see below in This Week In Videos).
I went for my test results for the VAT test I had done 2 weeks ago. It came back with abnormalities so now I have to get an MRI on my brain. Lucky me (that was sarcasm). Hopefully there's nothing seriously wrong with me and this MRI will tell me why I get vertigo all the time.
Dan has been working really hard lately. Going into work early and staying late. Lily and I miss him during the week. We don't get to spend too much time together except on the weekends. We appreciate all that he does for us. Lily is always so happy to see her Daddy when he gets home from work. She can't take her eyes off of him and it's like there is nothing else in the world that is more interesting than her Daddy's face!
